DaC first year anniversary [excerpt]

I think it was really October 2nd. i made this in october, but i spammed too much to post it right away. and i have the next excerpts post ready already xD Yup, it's another sorry excuse for another except. This is going to be the last one until next year though at least, I promise! ;-; I've been posting way too much lately.
And yaay I've been working on this story for a year already! C: It's come a long way. It's about time I finish it and say goodbye to those guys and move on to a new story. but i'm so attached to these characters ;-; the october story doesn't really focus on wars or cool fighting soldiers, just a dumb mystery that sam tries to solve in the higher-up leader levels but well, she didnt really want to, darvan started it.

-ivan likes rance cause he's his big bro (noo not really) and vanera but he's neutral with the cap or hates him, depending on vanera's moods. 

-likewise, the cap is neutral with ivan and hates/superhates vanera, and he hates/likes rance depending on what stupid thing he's done lately.

sam's trashy brother bryce. i don't think i've ever drawn him before. i didn't use a ref for this, so it turned out way too bad, but i'm dumping it anyway. he has little freckles (not as much as sam, like, slight freckles. i don't think they're visible here though i did draw them in. ;-;) and he's a pirate chief (lol i kinda imagine him to act like those motorcycle gang leaders we have down here in florida. xD the ones with beards and skull/bones pirate flags. they're such pushovers and everybody hates them except their friends.) he cares a little too much about the treasury because without it, the pirates will starve and they look up to him to keep them safe, so he'll do anything. even sell his sister out. but who cares, right? at least she didn't die. the plan went wrong anyway, so it can't be his fault. He was also supposed to wear those half-finger gloves but I can't even draw hands.

and it's cold in the mountains, so the pirates are almost always bundled up. 

this happened near the end. darvan was so mean to sam so she's sad and she hates him. >:(

but he apologized. ;-; pat pat 

no it doesn't excuse him.

hes trying to apologize-explain and she punched him.

sam helped him break jail. he helped HER break jail before, so why not return the favor?

they knocked and shot all the guards.

he can't concentrate because his stack of papers is going to fall. xD

sam is doted over by her mega friend. lol. or in the mini comics, at least.

this is canon. 8-) although it never really happens in the story (hey it's sam's POV, and she's not keeping tabs on dummy 24/7. xD) BUT he has little buddies and they're good friends with him and he takes them out to the carnival or something and buys them food and candy and stuff  and in return they do braid his hair for him.  cute. <8)

this didn't happen. ivan cant dance. ivan hates dancing. ivan hates sam. sam hates ivan. she'd never agree, she'd run. idk its just that, ivan is closer to sam's age than rance is, but he's just a monster and nobody likes him. and in the end, idk why i drew this. ._.

vanera stop tormenting him. >:(

i'm currently writing the best part of the story - when darvan gets captured. person [?] slammed him on the floor and tied him up. >8) I made sure it make it painful for all my favorite characters in this scene. well except sam, but she didn't deserve getting hit and tied up so she wasn't.

i think i posted a small excerpt about this at one point? idk i forgot

darvan on one of the Scavenger's balconies in the light rain.

that's his personal balcony because he has a whole half a floor to himself because he's extravagant and kinda arrogant at times. but at least he's polite. sort of.

i think hes singing "i just cant wait to be king" in his head. lol. no, jk. hes thinking about the spoiler issue.

I really hate this and I'm going to trash it. Maybe I'll look back at it someday and think "wow why in the world did i post this" 

anyway, sam is bothering her boss. i can't draw girls at all, she looks super ugly here. 

ugliness aside, it's kinda funny because towards the end of the story Sam starts pushing Darvan around a lot. after someone di-- um no. He pushed her around before and she wants to get even. xD

and she's telling person [?] to pay up (for their sins) and she bought darvan along to further humiliate him. haha.

it didn't really happen, but I had an option to branch the story this way. I settled on a better ending though. >8)

Okayy so this post took me forever and I wanted to finish it before October was over. ;-; It's the secrets of the Elites and captain from my story. i used myself as a ref for all of them because i cant draw humans, so the dudes probably look unrealistic but anyway. sighs

This post will make your eyes bleed more than the blood that is in the drawings, and I apologize in advance.

Darvan's secret. Nope, he never killed anyone, he never even hit anyone ever before in his life. and that blood ain't his (at least most of it). I don't want to spoil the story right now so you can figure it out if you want. ._.

Vanera ("Shrike") she's a real trash-head but i kinda like writing her lines because she's real tough and once she picks her side, you can't really persuade her to change her mind. (she isn't really missing any limbs obviously, this is just to symbolize her secret ;-;) 

i think she turned out the best in this post, maybe least ugly.

there is this host-guy in my class whose name is bryce and it's the funniest thing ever because i imagine him to be my bryce. like, sam's bro. xD he's teaching us the class! it's so funny.

 I didn't originally want to post this but eh i'll probably save over the file anyway so I think I'll keep it here. I drew dis for my mom because she was so done with me talking about dummy all the time so i did this to make her more mad at me. xD no, actually, she said "you and your character... :/ sighs" so i said "ya, but what if we met him in modern times?" so this is him in modern clothes. xD the suitcase is based on a scene in the story. and i obviously used a ref for the hands, obviously.

CHEEKS. bwahaha he wouldn't have squishy cheeks but hey 

(it's funny, I had a dream about him once. xD he was in a nice navy tailcoat and there was a party outside a huge mansion at midnight or something. i think it was based on cinderella. i just saw the ponytail though, because he didn't turn his face. ;-; but it was a good dream.)

i think this is the only drawing of darvan i ever did that I don't actually hate right now. I mean sure it sucks, but it's the best i could do so far :/

he probably has this nice british accent now that I think of it. (so yes kenza, he does. i think it's a low slight british, but i imagine he has it. ugh i can't explain it, but i can imagine his voice in my head and i can't find any videos that has the type of voice i imagine him to have xD like, his accent isn't noticeable unless he yells or talks forcefully like that. but rancie would have an american accent because he's a thug and accents don't suit him. lol hypocrite)

but idk yet. 

kinda spoilers on which of them gets hurt. darvan gets his nose knocked out. well not knocked out, but the bone broke. :/ rance has it worse though. he gets shot.

sam gets hurt a lot too (the funny part is, they're all hurt by the same person.)

and ivan don't just stand there, do something

this didn't really happen exactly, but there is a part where sam found out his plan and what he's really hiding. maybe when he was in jail or something. gold necklace

personally this is my favorite scene in the whole book. when darvan and sam chat in the hangar when he's working on a plane. xD i think i posted it a long time ago. he's not a snobby know-it-all btw. mechanic work is the only hobby he has besides drinking tea.

he kinda looks like a girl here for some reason. xD oh well.

Rolfie's art trade kinda inspired this. xD also, i wanted to try drawing the dress. i like how sam turned out here, though she's a bit out of character. lol.

And I wanted to post this in October, but I won't have computer access on most of Friday and on the weekend at all so that's too bad. :/ This is also why SotS won't be updated this week. sighs
